About Harland Academy

Harland Academy is an online training and certification academy for restaurant inventory and food-cost control. It takes the skills that usually live in a veteran operator's head — counting, ordering, receiving, par levels, variance reporting and menu costing — and turns them into short, structured courses that any member of a team can work through at their own pace.

Each course is built as a series of focused lessons and worked examples, followed by a section exam. Learners have to score 95% or higher to pass a section before they can move on, so a certificate from Harland Academy means the material was actually mastered rather than merely watched. Completing a course issues a formal digital certificate and a branded field reference sheet designed to be printed and kept on the line.

The academy is made for independent restaurant owners, general managers, chefs and multi-unit operators who need everyone in the building counting and ordering the same way. It also supports foodservice distributors and their sales teams, who can enrol the accounts they serve directly and hand out validation codes so their customers start training without paying up front.

Harland Academy is built and operated by the team behind Orca Inventory, working alongside foodservice distribution partners. The platform was designed so that a course, its exams, its certificate and its printable reference are all produced from the same content, and so that partner programs can be set up and managed without any custom engineering.

Structured courses

Short lessons and worked examples that build one skill at a time, from the first count to the finished P&L conversation.

Mastery, not attendance

Every section ends in an exam and you need 95% or better to pass it, so a certificate means the material was genuinely learned.

Proof you can hand over

Finishing a course issues a formal certificate and a branded one-page field reference you can keep behind the line.
